The auction is November 24-28

We don’t need wings or an airplane to “SOAR”.

This is the theme for this year’s charm swap and auction. To soar for some may mean going to new heights, or reaching out to try new things. It may be making our way further than we ever thought possible, or perhaps going beyond ourselves. These are all the ideas that come to mind when we think of soaring. Creativity and art allows us to go to new places and experience new things. My soaring moments have been many, overcoming brain surgery, the loss of a child, and being a disabled vet. Learning new things and creative art has helped me to overcome so many difficult times. Through these times God has been faithful, He cares for the sparrow and I am told in His word that I am more valuable than the sparrow. This is a reminder that as we stand here with both feet on the ground we can be soaring. This charm of a Skylark, reminds me of William Wordsworth poem:

“To Skylark”

Ethereal minstrel! Pilgrim of the sky!
Dost thou despise the earth where cares abound?
Or, while the wings aspire, are heart and eye
Both with thy nest upon the dewy ground?
Thy nest which thou canst drop into at will,
Those quivering wings composed, that music still!

Leave to the nightingale her shady wood;
A privacy of glorious light is thine;
Whence thou dost pour upon the world a flood
Of harmony, with instinct more divine;
Type of the wise who soar, but never roam;
True to the kindred points of Heaven and Home!

    You would know all about hospitals. It means so much that you support this program. I can’t even imagine what you went through as an adult. Imagining a child going through those procedures is heartbreaking as they don’t always understand what is happening or have the coping skills we hope adults have developed. I bet there where days you wanted a bead!

    You have truly soared. Although it does make my fingers ‘sore’ as well thinking of all that detailed wirework. They are lovely, and I am thrilled to have received one.
